How are you JY?

It's been a year since the accident... 

Since I got a text from Robert about you being in the hospital and then another text saying you didn't make it... 

I haven't posted on your facebook like other people had, saying random things as though you're still here to read it cos it's just too strange and frankly, I don't think it's that healthy to 'talk' on a deceased person's facebook regularly I mean it's really nice and all when people remember but well. Maybe it's just me and I do things differently.

Your passing snapped a lot of people back to reality -- if it can happen to one of the nicest person on earth, what about the rest of us then? 

I've been pretty paranoid about crossing roads since, which is pretty impossible, I mean, I used to jaywalk all the time on PJ roads and who on earth would get paranoid about crossing roads back home? Probably noone cos everyone's pretty gutsy as far as I'm concerned - I mean, we've all seen people crossing 6-lane highways with no problems at all lol.

But now I jump each time a car speeds past me, I look thrice before I cross the road, and I hold my breath when I hurry across the street. It doesn't make sense -- roads here are so much safer but then who's to tell if some idiot driver is going to lose control, or not see me in the dark, or is just plain drunk? Even as they pull up to a stop at the red light when I'm making my way across I still pray really hard they saw the red light and don't run me over.

I think of you almost every evening when I walk home -- when the skies turn dark and when I'm alone. I'd look to the highway I walk along and try to imagine how it feels if one of the speeding cars hit me. How will I react? How will I feel? Will I die right away? Will I feel the pain? These thoughts haunt me sometimes, and I feel immensely sad that you had to meet with such a fate.

It isn't fair, but there's nothing I can do about it besides offering a quiet prayer for you and your family.

HMMM....

I'm currently in my law class.

I normally pay my undivided attention to what's going on in class, and have succeeded from surfing and chatting despite having my laptop and great internet speed.

However...today... I stray...

Cos the topics are overlapping with what I learnt in my undergrad, and we just got our assignments back and we did great (which triggers the feeling where we think we deserve some rest and slack), and we have class presentations (which I absolutely hate) -- the biggest contribution to my reluctance to pay attention.

I mean, firstly, the incomprehensible English. I know I sound mean saying this, and I bet they're trying their hardest, and English isn't their mother tongue, so it's perfectly understandable to not speak it fluently, but that doesn't make their presentation any more tolerable on the ears. So I gave up trying to figure out what are they saying... and came blogging cos I haven't in awhile. Might as well put my time to good use.

I decorated the house with more wall decals....

There're more but I can't seem to send the files to my computer so annoying.... but yea...

Nothing much happened besides a primary school friend popping by to say hi after 2years of spotting me in campus but never mentioned anything.... hmm....

Bo-ring. Sigh.

Updates!!!

Well, it's been awhile!!!

I have been busy in Jan baking pineapple tarts for CNY, cleaning a bit of house, meeting up some more friends, eating a few more cuisines that I'll never find in Melb, and then spend some quality time at home...

Sent bro off to school the first week of Jan as his school is starting 2nd week of Jan, dad's car's fan broke down right after customs, so we were stranded in Woodlands for a bit till Uncle's driver came and save us haha so chilled at Aunt's house for a bit till everything was up and running and home we went.

Mum initially didn't wake me up (we left early in the morn) to go send bro off but I insisted I'd wanna go cos it'd be a good year before I see him hey so why not spend a few more hours with him and with the broken fan I did get a few more hours with him hahaha!

Other than that have not been doing much and then back to Melb I am!!

Was hot and beautiful so far, loving the weather, hopefully it stays this way for the next few months hahahaha... asking for the impossible right...

Moved to my new place, and working my ass off, so far... have not done anything interesting either besides going to an 80's themed party.... which I actually put an effort into dressing the part though I think I pretty much did not look VERY 80s. Hahaha!!

Will update a bit more when I get a new desk. My current one's a MESS and it's so small and so is my wardrobe I had to get a chest of drawers to accommodate some necessities I actually have an atlas on my current desk and I thought it'd be great to improve on my geography but after placing my laptop and other stuff on it, all I can see is some Indonesia and Australasia.

Which is too ironic for words. lol...and of course my insatiable craving for fruitips may be satisfied here in Aussieland. : )
